The Auckland Catholic Tertiary Chaplaincy seeks to foster the development of Christian faith and practice within the city’s academic communities. As a visible presence it supports and encourages both students and staff to grow in the knowledge and love of God. It forms a community graced by the Spirit to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Community
To provide access to the Catholic Faith Community, its worship, teaching and fellowship and so to provide a place of belonging
Spirituality
To provide a place of encounter with the depths of Christian spirituality through liturgy, prayer, the sacraments and other spiritual exercises
Mission
To make known the Gospel of Christ within the institutions served and to encourage a spirit of service to the world.
What to find in Newmanhall Head Office
Apart from the celebration of the sacraments and free lunches, we offer space for students to study, lounge to relax, kitchen for lunch, support service/referral to counselors and a chapel for prayer and reflection. We offer support to any Catholic youth group activities on campus and work closely with them regarding any Chaplaincy event.
Other Tertiary Institute
Places like Massey, Unitec, Manukau and AUT the chaplaincy offers support in weekly Masses as well as shared lunch, to students and staff. You will find various staff working in these campuses, please contact the team for any question or if you want to meet up.
